Links

Interested in more than just this? Great!

I have a profile on most of these sites, you can simply find them when clicking on the links in the "More Redmaker?"-section on the sidebar.

Playfire

Playfire is a great place to show off your games and collection. If you have just nearly as much like I do, you'll probably love this place. Find other people which play and like the same games like you do, discuss great classics or the newest shit out there. Just take a look, if you're a gamer, this site is for you!

Vimeo

Vimeo is a similiar site to YouTube. "Oh, another video portal..." That was you, right? Sorry, this time you are wrong. While YouTube has some good stuff, but mostly vids from dumb kids or songs with hamsters eating brocolli, Vimeo has more what I would call "art" in the original meaning. There are many categorys ("Hu? Categorys?") like 2D-animation, music videos, short movie, or even stop motion.
Don't get it yet? Well, I guess this or that may help to explain why I really love Vimeo, while YouTube is just another video portal...

Twiturm

Twitter is nice, right? Microbloggin and 140 characters limitation? Well, what would you say when I tell you that it's possible to share your own music via Twitter? No, I don't mean "Ya,  looooveee tis song [youtubelink] #hurrayimdumb", I mean YOUR music!

You make songs? You want to share them? Download-option for everyone or not? People can share your music? Getting a larger audience? Alright, then you may be interested in Twiturm.
Twiturm FINALLY is a service that works with an twitter-account that NOT only let you post a tweet with a song that already is somewhere on the endless web, it let's you upload your own stuff. Pretty easy, a nice, handy player and many more awaits you over at Twiturm. You, the artist, can see how many people played that song and how often. And, if you checked that box, how many downloads it has.

Nothing wrong about it? Well, kinda. Since it's working with twitter, you have a limitation to tell people the story about the song. When the song is uploaded you can post the link with a message on your Twitter, but describing a song in less then 140 letters ( thanks to the attached link to the song) can be pretty hard. Anyway, the idea is right and for me it works fine.

Jamendo

You want some new tunes? Searching for music you can use for your own videos? Then Jamendo may be the place you fall in love with.

Various artists and genres can be found on this site. Most songs come under a free license, so you can download them for free and legal and also use them (as long as you name the artist). No need to be afraid that a major label takes down your videos anymore.

If you are an artist you can also upload your stuff here. Other can talk about it, download it, share it. Great place to show off your work and to find out what other artists do.
